Our commitment

Bangla Hadeeth is an offline-first Islamic reference app: hadith collections, the Holy Quran with tafsir, prayer times and daily worship tools for Bengali readers. The app has no user accounts, shows no advertisements, and includes no analytics or tracking tools. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data — the app is not designed to collect it.

Data stored on your device

The following information is created and stored only on your device, inside the app's private storage, and is never transmitted to us:

• Bookmarks, favorite hadith and verses, folders, and personal notes
• Reading history, reading progress, and memorization records
• Prayer-tracking, checklist, and app settings (including your chosen district)
• Books, PDFs, and recitation audio that you choose to download for offline use

You can export this data yourself at any time using the in-app backup (JSON) feature, and you can erase all of it by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.

Location

Location permission is optional. It is used only while the app is open (foreground), and only for features you turn on: detecting your district for prayer-time calculation, the Qibla compass direction, and finding nearby mosques. Your location is processed on your device only and is never sent to us or stored on any server. If you prefer, you can simply pick your district manually and never grant the location permission.

Notifications and alarms

With your permission, the app schedules prayer-time alerts, reminders, and a home-screen widget using on-device alarms. These are computed entirely on your device from your chosen district; no notification data leaves your phone.

Internet use — only when you ask for it

The core app (hadith, Quran, tafsir, prayer times) works fully offline. Internet is used only for actions you initiate, for example:

• Streaming or downloading Quran recitation audio (served from a public audio CDN, cdn.islamic.network)
• Downloading books and PDFs from links hosted on Google Drive
• Opening reading sections that display third-party websites inside the app (such as at-tahreek.com, tawheederdak.com, the Hadith Foundation library, and the multimedia site) — those websites are operated by their respective owners and their own privacy policies apply
• Voice search uses your device's built-in speech-recognition service; the app itself does not record, store, or transmit your voice

When you use these features, the receiving service will see ordinary technical information (such as your IP address), exactly as when visiting any website or downloading any file.

Data we collect

None. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, device identifiers, location history, or usage statistics. There are no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.

Children

The app is a religious education and reference tool suitable for general audiences. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same address together with the app listing.
